Geoff Aylward first practised as an associate with the firm of Aylward, Morris & Pittman for two years following his call to the Newfoundland bar in 1983. In 1985 he became a partner in the law firm of Aylward, Chislett & Whitten. Geoff and Bruce Chislett formed the firm now known as Aylward, Chislett and Whitten in 1990.

Practice areas Geoff Aylward has a general practice of 20 years with an emphasis on litigation. He has appeared before all levels of Courts in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Federal Court Trial Division and the Federal Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before various administrative tribunals.
Geoff Aylward has significant litigation experience in disability insurance claims, personal injury, life insurance and property insurance claims, employment, construction, estates, criminal (defence and prosecution) and property disputes. His practice areas also include corporate, commercial, real estate, contracts and wills.
Geoff has had success in negotiating and litigating complex and difficult cases including cases outside his normal practice areas. He has in a number of cases represented clients suffering from mild to severe head injuries, atypical cluster brain aneurysm, and psychiatric illnesses.

Bruce Chislett practised as an associate with the firm of Aylward, Morris & Pittman for four years following his call to the Newfoundland bar in 1986. He and Geoffrey Aylward then formed the firm now known as Aylward, Chislett and Whitten. He has continued in private practise with this firm since 1990.

Practice areas Bruce Chislett practices primarily in the areas of Civil Litigation and Real Estate transactions. His Civil Litigation practice has been largely developed over the past 12 years. It involves; personal injury claims; disability insurance and Canada Pension Plan claims; hospital/medical malpractice litigation, and; wrongful dismissal claims.
Prior to 1992, Bruce Chislett carried on a broad general practice that included; Criminal Prosecution and Defense work; Family Law; Human Rights cases; various Administrative Tribunal cases, and: Wills and Estates.
Bruce Chislett has appeared in both civil and criminal matters before Judges of the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, (Trial Division and Court of Appeal) and the Federal Court of Canada. He has presented cases before the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission, the Newfoundland and Labrador Workers Compensation Appeal Board and the federal Employment Insurance Appeals Umpire Tribunal. He has prosecuted and defended Jury trials on such charges as culpable homicide, trafficking and indictable sexual offences. He has, acting as Agent of the Attorney General of Canada, prosecuted charges under the federal Competition Act and Food and Drug Act.
