GENERAL MOTORS CLASS ACTION
Geoff Aylward of Aylward, Chislett and Whitten today announced the commencement of a class action against General Motors of Canada Limited and General Motors Corporation.
This class action is part of a broader class action being pursued in B.C., Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
The plaintiffs= claims are that General Motors designed, marketed, tested and
manufactured, in the 1995-2004 model years, various Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac motor vehicles with a 3.1, 3.4, 3.8 or 4.3 litre engine, using a defective intake manifold gasket. The alleged defect is that the gasket degrades causing coolant to leak into the engine. This requires either expensive preventive repair and, in many cases, serious over-heating and engine seizure.
Aylward, Chislett & Whitten is working with a coalition of lawyers across the country to ensure fair compensation to owners and lessees of affected vehicles. Affected individuals may visit the website www.classproceedings.ca or www.acwlaw.ca to complete and send in a questionnaire form.
It has been estimated that on a Canada-wide basis there are 400,000 affected vehicles. The affected vehicles include those listed below:
